GB's Game Reviews: 2025-2026 Edition

This year's top story in GB video gaming: The return of the Sega Genesis.

The Atari 2600 was the console that got me started in the world of video games, but the Genesis was the console to truly solidify a lifelong love of the medium in me. Longtime readers know my story with the Genesis already, but to sum it up in one sentence, my mom got one sometime in 1993 after our Atari stopped working, it was my main console for the entirety of the rest of the decade until I became a Game Boy Color owner for Christmas 2000, and I've adored video games ever since. In recent years, our Genesis collection was mostly inaccessible, partly due to the cartridges beginning to fail and partly due to migrating to modern TVs that the Genesis couldn't connect to. I was still able to play some of our old favorites due to them getting modern ports on the Switch, such as the Sonic games, Castlevania Bloodlines, and Streets Of Rage 2, but many others remained off-limits unless I wanted to emulate, and these days I usually only emulate to play things like fan translations and rom hacks that aren't accessible any other way. In February 2026, though, I had some money saved up and decided to splurge on a solution, buying a clone console called the Mega Retron HD that can connect to modern TVs right out of the box and also picking up a flash cart to replace the legions of old cartridges that refuse to boot. I love physical media, but it's not the cure-all to game preservation that some people say it is. Carts fail and die eventually, and they'll only get rarer and rarer as the supply of 35-year-old plastic carts steadily dwindles, making secondhand market prices skyrocket and making old games on cartridges nearly as inaccessible as delisted digital titles. But I do love the feeling of playing games on the TV with a controller, so the flash cart was a happy medium. Plus, the one I bought came with hundreds of games pre-loaded onto the included micro SD card, meaning I was free to try just about any game in the Genesis library, removing the barrier to entry that downloading all that stuff myself presented. With the help of the Mega Retron HD and the flash cart, I began revisiting some old favorites and trying a few new games as well.

But the Mega Retron HD wasn't the only "new" console to join the family this past year. There was also a little indie thing called the Switch 2 that rolled into town. I've played a handful of Switch 2 games in the past year, all of them major releases like Donkey Kong Bananza and Pokemon Legends ZA. I mostly like the Switch 2, with the improved game performance and faster loading being one of my favorite things about it. I'm at the point where I'd much rather have smooth, clean, fast-loading games than ones that look a little prettier in screenshots. That said, I do see why some people complain that it doesn't feel like a huge jump from the Switch 1. This is a simple evolution, not a complete reinvention, and that's okay. I didn't want gimmicks anyway, just games (The Switch 2's mouse mode could not possibly be less exciting to me, and I frequently forget it even exists).

I've also continued the trend I began a couple years ago of replaying old games, even ones I'd already completed. Some of those games were reviewed by me many years ago, others I never reviewed properly, but in every case I wrote something up and added them to the post.

Lastly, I think this year's blog sports the highest average length of a review. I didn't play a ton of different games this last year (there are 28 reviews here in total), but I had plenty to say about most of the ones that I did play, resulting in a very long blog. Enjoy!

Putting The Pieces Together: GB Behind The Scenes 2025

Season 15 is now well behind us, and at last here is a long-overdue behind the scenes look at my events and characters from that year and how it all came together, as well as what got left out or changed from initial plans.

Getting Jiggy With It was born from a bit of a malaise I developed late in Season 14, where I was losing interest in traditional "go fight the bad guy" plots and wanted to do something different. My original plan was to do a plot with no serious antagonists. This wasn't the first time I'd considered such an idea (you may recall The Cabinet Of Curiosities had an initial similar goal), and I went into it expecting not to succeed. One thing I often find myself doing when it comes to RP is setting a goal knowing I will fail, but the idea was not an absolute adherence so much as it was restraint. For instance, some years I'll try hard not to add new characters to RP on a whim, so that when some inevitably get through my defenses, they're characters I really care about or that have a clear role to play in a story. This was the same way - I wasn't surprised when a couple of genuine antagonists popped up in the plot, but I kept the scope small and restricted, and we ended up defeating the closest thing the plot had to a Big Bad about halfway through, with most of the plot's other battles being against petty villains that weren't very threatening (Venom Brigade), a large animal of neutral alignment (Monsterverse Tiamat), and an honorable duel against a hero (Foetodon).

The idea of making a plot about Jiggies came from replaying the Banjo-Kazooie N64 duology on Switch Online's N64 app. I played BK near the start of 2024 and BT much later in the year after it came out on the app. Both games hold up well today, in my opinion, though admittedly the addition of savestates smooths off a lot of potential frustration and BT running without lag on the Switch helps it a lot. Both games deliver some wonderfully memorable worlds and characters, and as I've done in the past with franchises I hold in high regard like Streets Of Rage, Octopath Traveler, Sonic, and Pokemon, I wanted to do a plot that evokes the feeling of playing the game that inspired it, without just being a retread. I got the idea for a series of events where I essentially make a miniature BK level and let the Kobbers loose to go scoop up all the collectibles. I think it was a good idea, but it took some work to get the format right.

If looked at after the fact, the first two events of the plot are fine, but I didn't feel fine in the moment (particularly the first one). By offering so many little challenges at once and needing to reply to each one in turn, I'd overwhelmed myself. I finished the first event feeling poorly about not just my plot, but RP in general, and in fact was feeling so down on myself that terrible thoughts had begun pushing into my head of wanting to abandon plots entirely, or even outright quit RP. It wasn't because of anything anyone did. I was just bored of the same old same old, and yet struggling to find anything to replace it with. It wasn't a good feeling. Fortunately, by the time we got into June, my mood regarding RP began to improve, and Brawl Season helped me get back in gear. By the time we got to the Horus plot-within-a-plot arc, I was fully back to being excited to show you guys what I could do.

Let's go over the plot's cast first and see where that discussion takes us.

The Isla Sorna Incident

My name is Nina Velge.

I shouldn't be alive.

And if I am alive, I shouldn't be free.

I had one of the most dangerous jobs on the planet, and then my employers went head to head in a knock-down, drag-out turf war with the biggest pack of vigilantes the world has ever known. Red shirts don't survive that shit. The folks on the ground are the first to go. The front lines, the mooks, the meat for the grinder. Most of my fellow grunts are long gone now. Some died then. Some got arrested. Some ended up in another organization later, under some chump you might have heard of named Heidegger. Yeah, THAT Heidegger. Orchestrator of the One-Day War, who tried to touch the sun and had his wings melt. More deaths there, more arrests. So many people I used to work with are now either in prison, were in prison, or are dead as a doornail.

And yet, here I am. One of the lucky ones.

Hell, I guess it makes sense. All my life I've been slipping through cracks. What's one more?

I came to Olympia in January of 2019. High school dropout. Couldn't cut it. Hated retail. And I wanted nothing to do with the military. I was young, angry at the world, and wanted to punch something. So I did what a lot of people with no direction and an itch to do some damage were doing in those days. I moved to Olympia with what I could scrape together and joined The Curse. A lot of people make a lot of assumptions about The Curse, and I'm here to tell you that it... was complicated. I'm not gonna mince words or try to defend it, it wasn't a good organization. But not everyone in The Curse was a piece of shit, though. Far from it. Take a sample of a dozen grunts and you'd get a dozen reasons for why they joined up. There were people who thought it was the easy way to riches and success. Others didn't see any other way at all. There were folks who felt they had to join for their own safety, and folks who enlisted specifically because it could be dangerous. Some wanted the thrills of operating outside the law. Some thought Plague and his friends at the top were visionaries. Some drank the Kool-Aid and thought Olympia would legitimately be better with The Curse in charge.

Some just wanted to watch the world burn.

I was kind of in the middle. I wanted to make an impact in a way that the establishment didn't like. I've never been great at toeing the line. Got in trouble at school a lot, especially once I hit my teens. One day I got sick of it and walked out and that was the end of it. So I wound up in The Curse, as a Shrapnel. The recruiter, a bitch with hair that writhed like a snake and skin as pale as a fish's underbelly, asked me which division I thought I'd be most useful in. I looked at 'em. Asked a couple questions.

And, because I was really damn stupid, I picked InGen.

In Pursuit Of The Truth

"Auntie!"

The young girl ran across the grocery store, arms outstretched. Binah broke into a grin, abandoning her shopping cart and spreading her arms, letting the impact happen. She hugged Binah fiercely, with the sort of energy and trust and decisiveness you only see from someone too young to know better. Binah chuckled as they embraced, and then she ruffled the girl's hair, her medium-length brown locks flying as Binah's hand scooched back and forth.

"Well hello there, my little lady." Binah beamed down at the girl. "What a pleasant surprise! ...And speaking of surprises, what on earth are you wearing?"

The girl stood with immense pride, grinning and putting her hands on her hips as she showed off her outfit to Binah - a black robe with gold accents. "You like it? It's just like your clothes!"

"Aha, so it IS on purpose! I knew it."

"You know everything, Auntie!"

"Where's Mom? She's with you, right?"

"Yeah, she's just slow! You know I always beat her in races!" the girl boasted.

"Hehe, true, true."

"What have you been doing at work lately?" the girl asked, her eyes wide and hopeful. They faltered as Binah could only return her expectant gaze with a sad, resigned look in her own eyes.

"I'm sorry, dear... You know I can't talk about it. As always, my job is top secret." The PCR only told non-members of its' work on a need-to-know basis. And though she would insist otherwise, Binah's eager little niece most certainly did not need to know. Binah's heart broke as the girl's face fell and she looked down at the ground.

"Oh... I hate that dumb rule. I thought you said you were gonna get rid of it."

"I've tried. But I'm not important enough in the company to make those kinds of changes alone. There are others I need to convince, and they won't hear it. So my job remains secret, I'm afraid."

"But... if I take a job with you when I grow up, then you'll HAVE to tell me, right?"

Binah grimaced a bit. "T-true... but I don't know if I like the idea of you having a career there."

"It's worth it to finally find out what my super-cool Aunt Binah does for a living!"

Binah couldn't help but chuckle again, a smile returning to her face. Then she heard the voice of someone approaching.

Chatzy Madness Volume 429: Secret Giraffes And Forbidden Elephants

Today I bring you a bittersweet Christmas gift: the final Chatzy Madness.

Perhaps you saw this coming, since it's been so long since the last one. I fell far behind after doing a pretty good job of being up-to-date for years. The thought of combing over a hundred chat logs for funny quotes sounds like a grind and a chore instead of a fun task, and I think that's my cue to stop. I know this will disappoint some people as Chatzy Madness had a few vocal fans, and I also feel disappointed in myself for not mustering the will to keep it going, but last week I started trying to work on it again, got through about six days, saw an hour had passed, and thought "I'm wasting way too much time on this". So it's time to wrap it up.

Really, if you think about it, this blog series lasting as long as it has is kind of nuts. Chatzy Madness is 429 volumes spanning over 14 years. I think that's a pretty damn good run, almost as long as ZFRP itself. If you read all 429 Chatzy Madnesses, I'd give you an Achievement or something if I could. Thanks for sticking with me. I hope you enjoy the last Chatzy Madness.

iKomodo: when does voting end chao?
iKomodo: because i'll have to throw one in at some point obvs
MobileDraco: Sunday
Jadeforged of Jashut: sunday sunday, sundayyy
Jadeforged of Jashut: oil paintings oil paintings SEAKIIIING
Jadeforged of Jashut: (this joke is for goops)
Jumpropeman: you beat me to it
Jumpropeman: hank of the hill sits alongside skooks in most rewatchable poops for me
Jumpropeman: I once made my niece cry quoting it-
Jumpropeman: she did not appreciate my hank hill voice...
iKomodo: SEAKING SEAKING SEAKING
RubyChao: sunday, yes
Jadeforged of Jashut: hank of the hill is pretty foundational

---

Jumpropeman: *googles Kothaga*
Jumpropeman: how about that, there's a notable movie in Telugu with the word in the name
RubyChao: you know what you must do jrm
Jumpropeman: apparently it means "new"
RubyChao: it is time for your understanding of language to play a key role
Gooper Blooper: Kothaga Super Mario Bros
Jumpropeman: that was the missing piece all along...

---

Gooper Blooper: So, today Goopsmom had to get her car inspected, and since the place that does it is forty minutes away she brought me along and we made a day of it and swung by the Fairbanks Museum
Gooper Blooper: Pardon, was pulled away for a second for a reason related to this story, but back now
Gooper Blooper: On the way there I shared with Goopsmom how the final two of the Brawl shook out. I usually tell her this the day after but this time the finale was such a complicated story with all the assistants and upgrades that it took until now for me to piece together a version of it she'd understand
Gooper Blooper: She wanted to know which users owned which characters and I told her about Hooded Pitohui. I've mentioned his name before and she always reacts with bafflement and then forgets it
Gooper Blooper: but she's definitely going to remember him this time
Gooper Blooper: The museum has tons of bird taxidermy specimens and she spent a significant portion of our visit looking for a hooded pitohui and continuously flubbing the name to the point it became a running joke
Gooper Blooper: I was pulled away because she was trying to google "red-hooded judihoi" and could not find the bird
RubyChao: ahahahahahaaaaaaa
Gooper Blooper: I had mentioned it had some red on it and she interpreted that as "red-hooded" and went down a rabbit hole of looking up the wrong birds
Gooper Blooper: but I think she's finally got it now
Gooper Blooper: As I went back upstairs she was cuddling Wyatt, her pet chihuahua, and telling him he's her little pitohui
Deadly To The Point of Death: Awww
Draco: The Judihoi...
Jumpropeman: time to make the red-hooded judihoi canon in rp and have it show up to the redhead meeting
NO CID ONLY CLAMS: Next up, she's trying to find Breebroo Crawshanks
NO CID ONLY CLAMS: ...did the museum have a hooded pitohui?
Gooper Blooper: We did not find one.
Gooper Blooper: this is where I would triumphantly link a photo of their specimen, IF THEY HAD ONE
Gooper Blooper: but it's possible we simply managed to miss it, or that they have one in storage
Jumpropeman: he escaped the museum so he could join rp
Mobile Pitohui joined the chat
Jumpropeman: it's him!
Jumpropeman: quick! Get the cage!
Mobile Pitohui: I think you're looking for judihoi. Two doors down. Common mistake.
NO CID ONLY CLAMS: No no, that yellow coated Asian girl who loves malls is even more wrong
Gooper Blooper: She kept pointing at random birds and going "Look, it's a red-hooded [garbles the name weirder every time]!"

---

RubyChao joined the chat
RubyChao: ahoy
Jumpropeman: ahoy hoy
Gooper Blooper: hell friend
Gooper Blooper: HELL FRIEND.
Jumpropeman: HELL FRIEND
RubyChao: HELL FRIEND
Gooper Blooper: that's okuu
MobileDraco: HELL FRIEND
Jumpropeman: everyone's got one

Chatzy Madness Volume 428: Truffles Yearns For The Mines (AKA Big Bar Brawl 15 Edition)

Draco: Hmm. I guess I do have to pick out a Secret Fiter. How do I convince JRM that Shashake isn't an OC?
Jumpropeman: you send X-Men villain Mystique, and she just spends the whole brawl disguised as Shashake
Draco: PERFECT
Cornwind Evil: Draco you just said their name out loud
Draco: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-
Draco explodes.
Draco: Shashake is cut Brawl content.
Jumpropeman: ingrid would vote for her and isn't sure why

---

RubyChao: man!!
RubyChao: brawl...
HOW DID HE GET THIS JOB: Man-Brawl, the considerably less successful second cousin to Man-Thing
HOW DID HE GET THIS JOB: Man-Bat claims no relation

---

(Re: the ZF Hospital medical staff)

RubyChao: dr. gerald nerique like "am i not good enough for you?"
Jumpropeman: she probably would rate him as one of the ones closest to her expertise
Jumpropeman: mostly because they both handle most of the less magical or supersciencey side of medical
Jumpropeman: it's also one reason she was fast to get along with maomao
Jumpropeman: she "gets" them
Jumpropeman: she wouldn't knock the magic healers, but she also wouldn't show Sarah an x-ray of a bladder and say "what do you think"
Gooper Blooper: There's nothing to fear, I have the best retired doctors on hand to make sure our medical team won't have to fret
Jumpropeman: now those two she'd show a bladder to
Jumpropeman: i do like over time we did accrue a great deal of doctors
Gooper Blooper: "Does it require lickens?" "*squeak*"
JiggyHarpy: vruhnu will join in on the doctoring!
JiggyHarpy: he knows what a bladder is-
Jumpropeman: "Vruhnu take a look at this" "Chiyari please stop showing everyone that bladder" *Chiyari slumps over*
JiggyHarpy: Vruhnu is the one showing everyone the bladder, what are you talking about
JiggyHarpy: he's all about rocks and kidney stones are fascinating to him

---

Draco: Oh dang. I still need a Secret Fiter. Is Chiyari free?
Jumpropeman: this isn't the time to ask her on a date draco, you have to submit a secret fiter!
Jumpropeman: link
Draco: You're right! I better get Sniveling!
Gooper Blooper: Finally, it's time for Mr. Delicious
Jumpropeman: powers: tanks any business he comes in contact with

---

(re: acquiring full-body character images for Brawl reference)

Jumpropeman: speaking of, whenever harp's around, I need to know about Naomi's body
RubyChao: Oh my, how lewd.

---

PhoneJade: Entering three different Jonesys
PhoneJade: Jonesybrawl
Jumpropeman: and one of those jonesys
Jumpropeman: is fortnite jonesy
PhoneJade: N
PhoneJade: No
SCOOBY DOO WHERE ARE YOX: She gets in the Top 10 because all she does is dance and everyone ignores her.

Chatzy Madness Volume 427: Smash.

Gooper Blooper: link
Jumpropeman: from back when you said you had an extra guy instead of an extra life
Gooper Blooper: I remember some of my old Genesis games called lives "tries" or "chances"
Gooper Blooper: It was usually the Disney-related games and even kid me was like "so they didn't want to say Mickey and Simba died"
Gooper Blooper: found a PDF of the Genesis manual for The Lion King and my memory was correct
Jumpropeman: meanwhile, that lion king bootleg was quite happy showing that simba is very much dead
Gooper Blooper: "When the Health Meter is empty, Simba loses a try." "When Simba's Health Meter reaches zero, you lose one Simba Chance"
AlternisChao: i like how the toad doesn't even look terrified, more just fascinated
Jumpropeman: he probably can relate
Gooper Blooper: Toad is also one of many, yes
Gooper Blooper: originally "Toad" referred to one specific Toad
Gooper Blooper: then the name spread to the entire species/race/whatever the hell they are
Jumpropeman: they tried for a bit with mushroom retainer

---

Jumpropeman: *types a grammatical error, deletes to fix it, realizes the character saying it, puts it back in*

---

AlternisChao: oh, fun fact
AlternisChao: Georgia Penn's name is taken entirely from that being a GG1 Pennsylvania Railroad gijinka
AlternisChao: Penn is obvious, and "Georgia" just felt like the best serious way to translatie "GG" into a woman's name
Jumpropeman: but what about Gigi!
AlternisChao: that can be the cute nickname when she's a main character in season 19

---

Hooded Pitohui: No, in fact I did not.
Jumpropeman: rail polygamy is the solution to this plot

---

Gooper Blooper: the new emergency food

---

Jumpropeman: I should send Concord to the trading post sometime...
Jumpropeman: they might not all fit
Gooper Blooper: All sixteen of them make Brawl bets
Jumpropeman: don't tempt me
Gooper Blooper tempts you
Gooper Blooper: *JRM has Roka make them for everyone with a written list so there's no text colors*
Jumpropeman: now we're talking
Jumpropeman: not literally though
Draco: Because we're on the Internet.

Chatzy Madness Volume 426: Explore Anguirus' Bathroom

Marty-o Sheep: Looking at blogs
Marty-o Sheep: Why Concord?
Jumpropeman: oh hey
Jumpropeman: it's sheep!
Jumpropeman: well you see sheep...
Jumpropeman: brb-
Marty-o Sheep: Should have been Bleeding Edge
Jumpropeman: concord is a personal challenge and something I can make goofy where I like
Marty-o Sheep: Ah! Here's the trailer I was thinking of!
Jumpropeman: i remember that snake
Jumpropeman: i did a big plot about overcoming societal prejudices, this year I'm not going so heavy
Jumpropeman he says, knowing about other plans already in motion
Harpnaomi: no Heavy involved
Marty-o Sheep: Bleeding Edge is the superior Overwatch clone, because you can play a dolphin
Marty-o Sheep: An angry dolphin.
Jumpropeman: I'm not using Concord because it's good, mate
Marty-o Sheep: "CALL ON CONCORD!"
Marty-o Sheep: I'd rather...not.
Marty-o Sheep: "Concord does the job by the book"
Marty-o Sheep: The Book of Mormon, maybe-

---

Donkey Kong Has A Chainsaw: All I know about Marvel Rivals is that Squirrel Girl has a ba-donkdonk and they made Namor Aquaman
Gooper Blooper: yeah she got "Girl Of The Month" status for a bit there
Guns Dont Go There: I have been playing Marvel Rivals
Guns Dont Go There: Currently the Internet is Horny for Emma Frost because they made her tall
Jumpropeman: i thought it was the thighs that are thicker than a redwood
Guns Dont Go There: two things can be true

---

Gooper Blooper: Oh, for non-sheep people: did a profiles update to detail out Venus' inventory
Jumpropeman clicks Troublemakers expecting her to be there
Gooper Blooper: I named my villains folder "Troublemakers" because they are rather underwhelming by villain standards
Gooper Blooper: She's got a whole shelf labeled "Stupid Fireworks" with a couple Watermelon Ninjas nestled between some of those pooping dog novelties and a gender reveal bomb that shoots green smoke
Jumpropeman: "gender reveal bomb"
Jumpropeman: her ultimate weapon...
Gooper Blooper: "isn't it supposed to be pink or blue" "it's green, figure it out yourself"
RubyChao: mental image that just struck me: this is chara buying one and setting it off when someone tries to pigeonhole her into a gender binary
they will she/they all they dang like
Gooper Blooper: I mostly stuck with "she" for Chara in the end but I tried to slip in some theys here and there when it flowed well with the writing
Gooper Blooper: Chara's true gender is Chocolate

---

Gooper Blooper: Most important Switch 2 news: the carts still taste disgusting
Jumpropeman: make some switch cartridge soup

GB's Game Reviews: 2024-2025 Edition

2024, or at least the first half of it in particular, was the year of playing games I'd played already.

I love Backloggery. I've talked about it before. It's a really cool website that lets you compile a database of your video game collection and track your progress with them, referring to the games you own but haven't beaten yet as "your backlog". It's a great idea, but admittedly I think it's given me a bit of tunnel vision. Sometimes I think a little too much about how next to enhance how my collection looks on Backloggery, choosing what to play on the basis of needing to beat more games. This is fine, but it can go too far when I'm reluctant to play something I've already 100% completed, or have beaten but can't realistically 100%, just for the fun of playing it. When I was a kid I didn't have this problem - even if I'd beaten a game a dozen times over, if it was fun enough I'd pop it in the system and do it again. Playing a game you've already finished isn't a "waste of time" - it basically accomplishes just as much as playing something you haven't played before, as long as you still get entertainment out of it. Games are meant to be fun, after all, and trying new ones is a good idea, but I shouldn't be casting old favorites into a "never touch again" box if they can still bring me joy.

Anyway, that preamble is because in 2024 I placed an unusual amount of focus on playing older games, many of which I'd beaten before. This started out as getting 100% completion on games I'd played thoroughly but had never managed to do everything in. This was seen in my reviews last year, where I finally 100%'d a number of games I consider absolute classics, such as the original Sonic games and Banjo-Kazooie. That mindset continues into this year's reviews, with the likes of Super Mario 64 crossed off the list, but then I also spent a lot of time with Vampire Survivors, which I had started in 2023 but didn't finish. However, eventually I even started playing games I'd finished a long time ago, such as Pokemon Snap and Pokemon Trading Card Game. Since it's been over a decade since I've reviewed some of these old games, though, I will be taking another look at them here in this edition of the blog, marking the first time in this blog series I've ever re-reviewed anything. As summer became fall, I started playing more new games (though Banjo-Tooie joined the replay fun after its' surprise NSO release), and you'll see that reflected in the reviews as I start tackling a number of small indie titles as well as a few bigger games I'd never played before this year - but I do still finish the blog off with a review of a game I first played over fifteen years ago. I also end up playing a whole lot of Sonic games here as I became re-invested in the franchise that got me hooked on video games. I tried out both Sonic's newest games and some popular fangames as well as going back and taking care of some older titles I never beat. If you read my January blogpost about my history with the Sonic series and still want to read more words about that darn blue hedgehog, he's all over this blogpost.

I hope you enjoy this especially retro-flavored look at what I've been playing since April 2024!

Welcome to the Next Level

(Co-written with Jumpropeman.)

You hear talk about "man caves". Side rooms or basements that are stuffed with the hobbies of a guy with disposable income. Well, ain't no rule says a woman can't have a cave too, right? And so, over the past few years, that was exactly what had happened at the home of Meredith and Rachel, AKA Mega Drive and Nomad.

Mega Drive opened the door and stepped into the room, taking a moment to just breathe it all in. This refinished basement was a shrine to Sega. Shelves were lined with hundreds of games for every Sega system (with the Genesis unsurprisingly the most prominent). Merchandise of Sega characters also dotted the shelves, with Sonic the Hedgehog getting a whole section to himself where all of his games and merch was concentrated. Original Sega store displays and posters went up anywhere there was space. Sega arcade cabinets were here as well. For space reasons, there was a multicade that could play dozens of Sega arcade originals, but for nerd reasons, there were also a couple of genuine OG cabinets as well, including a The Lost World: Jurassic Park pinball machine. A place of honor was given to Periscope, a 1966 electro-mechanical arcade machine that was accompanied by a plaque proudly stating that it was Sega's very first game. Rachel had bought it for Meredith for Christmas 2024. That darn red-hooded nerd had always been trying to top herself, getting Meredith more extravagant and obscure Sega gifts each year, and Mega was at a bit of a loss as to how Rachel could possibly top this one next holiday season.

Meredith put a hand to her chin in thought as she looked over the Genesis games, almost reaching for a curious-looking one called Socket, then looking over at one called Chuck Rock, and then her eyes settled on a familiar favorite - Toejam and Earl. "Ah, it's so hard to choose sometimes..." she mumbled to herself. "Do I play something I don't have much experience with, or do I stick with an old faithful?"

"I have a suggestion!"

Meredith jumped a bit in surprise and turned to see Rachel had slipped into the room. "Ah, Rachel! Do you? That would be nice. I could use some help settling on something to play."

"I'm always ready to give my Sega Princess a helping hand." Rachel said softly, coming in close and hugging Meredith. "Come, let's get you to the royal couch." Rachel grinned and swept Meredith off her feet, Meredith letting out a "WHOOP!" of excited surprise as the most athletic girl in Nerd Club managed to heave her up in a princess carry. Rachel's grin turned a bit cocky as she did a couple reps with Meredith, lifting her up and down like a barbell and making her blush deeply. "You make excellent weight training." Rachel said as she stepped towards the couch, bowing her head to smooch Mega on one cheek. Meredith was lowered gently onto the couch, then Rachel stood in front of her and started rooting around in her Nomad robe for something.

"Oh, are we playing on Nomads today?" Mega asked, her cheeks still pink.

"Nah, not today. But I've got the perfect game for us to play on the big screen!" Rachel pulled out a generic plastic game case, then opened it and produced a blank Genesis cart. Instead of a label, it simply had a piece of masking tape across the front with "SOR2" written on it in marker. She stuck it in the Genesis and plopped down on the couch next to Meredith, both of them soon holding controllers. The Streets of Rage 2 title screen appeared on Meredith's large CRT television, the nerd brightening.

"Ah! A classic for sure! And the perfect co-op game to unwind with!"

"You bet! This one's a little special, though."

Mega was about to ask what was special about it, only for the character select screen to make it abundantly clear. This version of SOR2 had new playable characters. Axel, Blaze, Max, and Skate were gone, and had been replaced with... Meredith, Rachel, Gale, and Sumireko!

"Oh my goodness!" Meredith gaped in surprise, moving her cursor around to flip between the girls and admiring their sprites. They looked quite accurate, right down to the fact that all four girls were cute squishy nerds instead of muscular street toughs.

"It's us and our best friends, heading out to deal with Mr. X." Rachel said, looking quite proud of herself. "I'm no hacker, but I got some help from the rest of Nerd Club to make this happen. Ready to play?"

Meredith wasted no time in selecting herself as her playable character, looking giddy as Rachel did the same. "Absolutely!"

"Oh, and can't forget." Rachel reached into her cloak again and pulled out a big bag of chocolate-covered pretzels and a couple cans of soda. "Gotta have some game fuel, right?" She placed the bag in between the two of them and handed Meredith a soda, Rachel popping the tab on hers and Meredith crunching down on a pretzel as battle commenced on the STREETS OF RAGE.

Chatzy Madness Volume 425: That's A Peko

Jumpropeman: right now, one of the biggest most important cards in the physical pokemon tcg... is budew
Gooper Blooper: let me look at one and see if I can figure out why
Jumpropeman: look at that MONSTER
Gooper Blooper: Well, if you need to stall against an opponent who can't fight back because they can't set up, that's pretty good, but one attack from just about anything kills it
Jumpropeman: the official pokemon website even made a page explaining it
Jumpropeman: i guess unless you also face a budew, you can set up your own crazy item strategies while the opponent is forced to just attack the little guy. 1 prize is a small price for getting something huge online
Gooper Blooper: "How do you counter Budew?"
Gooper Blooper: imagine the intense budew-v-budew lulls
Gooper Blooper: these thumbnails are spectacular
Gooper Blooper: another video description tells me that this is Budew's first card in 16 years
Jumpropeman: THREAT OR SAVIOR
Gooper Blooper: it was gathering power all this time
Jumpropeman: the funny thing is, it's so dominant, it might not be the last
Jumpropeman: apparently Tapu Lele was such an important card it gets thrown into sets now and then as a secret rare to pay tribute
Gooper Blooper: I know a lot of baby Pokemon took extended breaks from the TCG because they didn't know what to do with them
Jumpropeman: budew and cleffa show they are too powerful...
Gooper Blooper: Budew must have been caught up in that, made worse by being such an overlooked pogey, but... seriously, nothing for BDSP or Legends Arceus?
Gooper Blooper: found some guy's blogpost listing the top six best cards from the new set, and Budew is #1, but look who they picked for #2
Jumpropeman: THE BOY
Gooper Blooper: if your opponent DARES terastallize
Gooper Blooper: eat fuckin' three hundred and thirty damage
Jumpropeman: i love that the tcg can give underpowered pokemon their days in the sun
Jumpropeman: not sure if its outdated info but, looks like the highest natural hp in tcg is 340
Gooper Blooper attaches a single PlusPower
Jumpropeman: work your way up to this bad boy
Jumpropeman: then Regigigas smashes you to shards
Draco: Dang. 340 HP? That's almost enough to survive Base Set Charizard.
Gooper Blooper: 120 damage for one energy
Jumpropeman: at some point the card game realized getting a third evolution on the field can be pretty difficult so the energy costs went down for them
Jumpropeman: although that tyranitar's also ex tera so its even more overtuned

---

Jumpropeman: on pokemon presents, I was pretty excited when the mobile games were going by so quickly, leaving extra time for... announcing latin american spanish for like three minutes
Harpnaomi: yeah that was weird but i ain't gonna complain
Jumpropeman: its good, but it was part of me realizing how weird it is that pokemon presents has buttoned up businessmen talk so much
Jumpropeman: you'd think it would have a more kid-friendly energy or something
Harpnaomi: channeling their Larry energy

---

Harpnaomi: drg: anniversary event is live!
Draco: ROCK AND STONE
Jumpropeman: what's it entail
Harpnaomi: had to quit partway through a mining mission because i did not see any fucking morkite
Harpnaomi: do mission, get cool hat and materials
Harpnaomi: its a 4 mission assignment
Harpnaomi: also the pilot lost the fucking trophies again because OF COURSE
Harpnaomi: i want to see mission control fistfight the pilot
Jumpropeman: this guy
Jumpropeman: he doesn't know what a lock is
Harpnaomi: inb4 i make a plot about this guy
Harpnaomi: "help me collect all the trophies i dropped and i'll give you this jiggy"
Harpnaomi: oh god i found my mayplot already huh.
Jumpropeman: that's a real collectathon
Jumpropeman: collect thing to collect things
Harpnaomi: i have a cooler better idea for a mayplot than that but hey, nobody has a rule against having TWO mayplots
Draco: And then Cagliostro offers up a Jiggy to fight her...and nobody fights her.
Harpnaomi: only way you'll get someone to fight you is for you to be in the brawl
Harpnaomi: and even then...
Jumpropeman: everyone runs when they see cagliostro
Jumpropeman: turns out, it's never been about morals. She just has BO
Draco: Le gasp
Harpnaomi: shtinky

Old Faces, New Faces

 -The Backrooms-

Three women walked together down a hall of the realm of The Backrooms that was referred to as 'The Waiting Rooms'. Here on the border of the Waiting Room and the nearby Classrooms was a hazy in-between area that resembled a school library. Books lined the walls, assembled on shelves that stretched up to near the ceiling. Various statues and other pieces of decor sat at the very top of the shelves, wooden figurines and stuffed toys looming over the trio like hunching gargoyles.

"Fascinating place you've got here." said Binah, looking around with appreciation. "You've certainly got some impressive discoveries under your belt already, Loremaster."

"Thank you, Binah!" Loremaster replied with a cheeky smile. "For the last year and a half, almost, studying this place has been my number one goal! It's a bit sad to de-prioritize it, but with its' main mysteries conquered, it's prudent I join you in Titan research. That seems rather more urgent. Now, to my honored guest..." Loremaster glanced over at the third woman in the party. "Allow me to introduce my latest breakthrough here in The Backrooms. Are you familiar with 'lost media', miss?"

"Yeah!" came the enthusiastic reply. "I help searches sometimes. In fact, just last month I managed to dig up a critical lead that helped people find the promo bumpers for the 1996 Kids Blast The Ballot Box awards show hosted by Stereoscope!"

"...Excellent!" Loremaster said, nodding as if she understood what any of that meant. "Anyway. I found out about lost media not too long ago, and I realized it could be entwined with The Backrooms. As I've shared already, I have a growing body of evidence that indicates that The Backrooms are formed and influenced by the memories of people on Earth. The places and things that appear here seem to be connected to half-remembered memories of the past. Which means, this could be a hotbed for lost media! If people remember something but it isn't easily accessible today, it could well be found here!" Coming to another room, Loremaster spread her arms and let her two guests soak in the sight of a personal study, shelves packed with books, discs, and cassette tapes (both audio and video), and a large desk with a computer acting as the centerpiece of it all. "Here, I have collected a large number of interesting-looking Backrooms books and media. I don't have the time to look through it all, unfortunately, but if you'd care to join us at Monarch, miss, I would be happy to give you access to this collection. Perhaps you'll find some new lost media!"

"WOW!" the girl exclaimed, pumping her fists excitedly. "This is the chance of a lifetime! And you're saying all I gotta do to get to use this study is to help you with Monarch? It's a deal!"

Truth be told, she probably would have helped even without this extra incentive, but she certainly appreciated it. After all...

Now she had twice the opportunities to expose the esoteric!

Chatzy Madness Volume 424: I Don't Like Killing, But I LOVE Steroids

RubyChao: Exactly how bad is the funding situation for Monarch, again?
Gooper Blooper: oh god
Gooper Blooper: Monarch is a huge deal in the Monsterverse and is easy bait for a massive, world-spanning plot, which I still might do, but I liked the idea of starting small
Gooper Blooper: Binah dreams of being a globetrotting kaiju whisperer but she's stuck here in the desert with Doug
RubyChao: i like it too however binah having to do a stint at mcmechos is still funny to picture

---

(After JRM changes his avatar to Mimi Sentry)

Jumpropeman: I can promise
Jumpropeman: Mimi is an idiot

(Later)

Gooper Blooper: the real reason JRM dislikes single fangs: why have just one when you can give a girl a mouth like a bear trap
Brine: Accurate, best kind.

---

New Years Eve-Il: "In Lufia 2, The Sea Ring is strong against Sea Creatures...but the programmers didn't flag any monsters as "Sea Creatures".
Harpydia: owned
Gooper Blooper: Big "Gen 1 ghosts beat psychics" energy
New Years Eve-Il: "Likewise, there is a Capsule monster with "Soil" attacks. There are no monsters with the Soil weakness flag set."
RubyChao: big "moon ball and burn heal" energy
New Years Eve-Il: "Final Fantasy Adventure has an item that cures the "Moogle" status—but the player can't use items as a Moogle, which renders the cure useless."
Harpydia: get moogled, idiot

---

Gooper Blooper: started playing a new robot fighting game today called Battle RC, runs great on the new comp
Jumpropeman: according to steam, Battle RC is similar to the game I've played, Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed
Gooper Blooper: My favorite thing about it is the Steam Workshop where people are uploading bot designs because there are a couple of super hardcore robot combat fans on there. Know how I know? Because instead of making replicas of famous and popular robots, they're putting the most obscure and random robots imaginable into Battle RC
Jumpropeman: excellent
Jumpropeman: ZFRP tier selection methods
Gooper Blooper: link
Jumpropeman: that's the kind of robot you throw into a tournament and it goes on an inexplicable run
Gooper Blooper: A few actually famous robots like Tombstone, Hydra, Toro, and Rusty did get representation on the workshop, but they are definitely outnumbered by the hordes of obscure one-and-done robots from multiple seasons ago
Gooper Blooper: who could forget... *checks notes*... Bucktooth Burl, who entered one tournament and didn't even get on television
Jumpropeman: excellent
Jumpropeman: sorted by most popular, looked at the first page, only recognize Tombstone :V
Gooper Blooper: (Malice is on the front page though, we know them because they sent me cool merch!)
Jumpropeman: Unidentified Red and Yellow Flipper for next Robot Champions

Sonic's Good Again: The Rise, Fall, and Rise Again of My Relationship With the Sonic the Hedgehog Series

-The Beginning-

You know this story. I've told it before. But here it is, one more time, to set the scene.

It was 1993, and little three-year-old Goops was beginning to form an attachment to video games. I played my mom's Atari 2600 as often as possible, usually playing Space Invaders. One day, the system went dead and refused to turn on again. I was beside myself with grief, and my mom knew what she had to do: get another video game console. She understood the Atari 2600 was old news by the 90s, but since she hadn't kept up with gaming since getting it, she wasn't sure what would be a good system to buy. Originally she considered an NES, but when she asked my older cousin for advice, he directed her away - the NES was old hat, too. The SNES, then? Nah. There was something much cooler on the market. If she wanted the most awesome video game system 1993 had to offer, she needed a Sega Genesis. And so, one morning I woke up to the sight of a new-in-box Model 2 Genesis in the living room and I was enraptured. Later that morning, the system was hooked up and I turned it on for the first time...

My mom has since added some additional information and a correction to this classic tale of how I first got into video games. Firstly, it wasn't a birthday gift like I had misremembered - the Atari did not happen to break down around then, she just wanted to cheer me up with a modern video game console after seeing how upset I was that the Atari had bitten the dust. Hilariously, she also added that when she became a mother, she had actually planned to raise a child without video games, which were at the height of their stereotypical "bad influence/brainrot" stereotyping in the early 90s, and she had bought into that mindset. When I'd found the Atari hanging around the house, though, she'd been willing to let me try it, and when she saw how despondent I was upon its' death, she already knew it was too late and couldn't bear seeing me so sad. Since then, my younger brother and even Mom herself have grown into avid gamers, and we've held the medium in high regard in this household ever since.

But it all comes back to that Genesis, and the pack-in game. Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

Chatzy Madness Volume 423: I Have To Turn Gabriella Into A Solifugid

Gooper Blooper: link
Gooper Blooper: evening
RubyChao: "Hotel Mario is a 1994 puzzle video game"
RubyChao: There is a non-zero chance Hotel Mario contains unforgivable sin.
Gooper Blooper: HEY YOU, GET OFFA MY CLOUD
Gooper Blooper: wait a second
Gooper Blooper: could THIS be the unforgivable sin:
Harpydia: yeah that's assault, bro
RubyChao: oh my god
RubyChao: assault and battery
RubyChao: theft
RubyChao: this is the moment where mario becomes destined for hell
Harpydia: truly a sadge moment
Gooper Blooper: he coulda spawned in the OverThere if not for this
Gooper Blooper: damnation it is

---

Gooper Blooper: https://danbooru.donmai.us/posts/6895769
Jumpropeman: egg!
Gooper Blooper: https://danbooru.donmai.us/posts/5209852
Jumpropeman: more egg!
Jumpropeman: when's her older sister join her in rp
Gooper Blooper: I unironically very briefly considered using Eggmaam as an antagonist for a Sonic-themed plot before realizing "no, this is just Eggette again" and scrapping it :V
Jumpropeman: why whats the problem with TWO eggettes-
Draco: Sage says they're copycat posers.
Gooper Blooper: I still find it suspicious that Sage popped up a few years after Eggette
Gooper Blooper: Sega had to have known about her...
Draco: Funny how Eggette hasn't been seen since... BI
Gooper Blooper: she was spotted this past May as a commentator for some big dumb robot fight where she revealed herself to be a stan for Chinkilla
Draco: ...hasn't been seen since...
Draco evacuates.

---

Draco: Two Dracgirls.
Gooper Blooper: I don't recall seeing the Archangel in RP, is this a reveal?
RubyChao: no, Draco used her as a faceclaim for the Mage General in agama
Draco: She had a minor role in Agama, faceclaim for Mage General Michaela Arcanjo. She's Silvania's step-daughter.
Gooper Blooper: Ah, yeah, we didn't see much of her
Gooper Blooper: totally forgot that character even existed
Draco: Yeah, she didn't do much.
Draco: She was a tertiary dueteragonist or something.
Jumpropeman: can you describe her with at least 30 adjectives?
Draco: Mean, rude, bullying, angry, bitter, sour, unhappy, commanding, domineering, dominating, magical, serious, busy, powerful, unimpressed, annoyed, steely, hardened, unforgiving, suspicious, untrusting, intelligent, clever, strategic, militaristic, hawkish, aggressive, brave, courageous, beautiful.
Jumpropeman: excellent, the first and most important zoofights rp wiki page can now be made
Jumpropeman: is she as beautiful as Ms. Fieldmouse though
Gooper Blooper: Ms. Fieldmouse's page got reworked at some point since JRM first found it and is a lot less unhinged in its' simping of her now
RubyChao: How dare.
Gooper Blooper: there's still this:
"Personality
Kind, caring, greedy, beautiful, attractive"

-but it doesn't call her "insanely sexy" any more
Draco: Nobody is THAT beautiful, JRM.
Jumpropeman: finally, modern hip Ms. Fieldmouse
Gooper Blooper: thanks, AI
RubyChao: Both Ms. Fieldmouse and Jacquimo the Swallow mention Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Jacquimo calls attention to the eponymous characters' impossible love, finding it romantic, while Ms. Fieldmouse comments in her song that their love was meaningless because it got them both killed.
However, Ms. Fieldmouse's allusion to Romeo and Juliet is actually incorrect, perhaps implying that she did not actually read the play: she says that they were "very much in love when they were wed" when actually the two lovers died before having the chance to get married (CORRECTION: Romeo and Juliet get married in Act 2, Scene 5 by Friar Laurence).

RubyChao: i like how they didn't bother to remove the incorrect one
RubyChao: but just add a correction
Jumpropeman: they didn't have any whiteout
Draco: The idea that Mrs. Fieldmouse might have not read Romeo and Juliet is very important to understanding her character.

Chatzy Madness Volume 422: Devote The Rest Of My Life To Mario

Gooper Blooper: https://danbooru.donmai.us/posts/8165246
Jumpropeman: only 76 images?!
Jumpropeman: *sharon bankrupts herself getting ravio commissions*
Draco: Dang. I can't believe she bought two Ravio commissions.
Hooded Pitohui: link
Hooded Pitohui: I saw a big poster with Ravio on it while browsing Etsy the other day and I was so tempted to buy it
Jumpropeman: oh man, that is cool
Jumpropeman: look at Sheerow! <3
Gooper Blooper: where's sharon tho
Jumpropeman: bringing out tables so it doesn't have to be on the grass
Jumpropeman: link
Gooper Blooper: link link
Jumpropeman: nep sometimes shows up at the rental shop just to make sure sharon's not sacrificing babies or whatever
Draco: "Tapestry" is being generous.
Jumpropeman: redbubble's so called tapestries are a gold mine
Draco: Once in a while, Nep's sister shows up to try to get Gale to do something.
Gooper Blooper: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/Ickg9LkvgaU/hqdefault.jpg
Jumpropeman: even thinking burns calories you know
Gooper Blooper: "Game Gear never attended SeHaGaHa High, preferring to stay home watching TV all day."
Jumpropeman: she learned enough from tv
Jumpropeman: like all the best soda brands
Draco: I mean, Gale got the best girlfriend that way, so...
Hooded Pitohui: Almost forgot to actually schedule the epilogue because I got to thinking about Sharon
Jumpropeman: understandable pitohui
Gooper Blooper: kek

---

Gooper Blooper: small post, I'm wiped out
Draco: *gets the push broom ready*
Hooded Pitohui: I feel ya. It's late.
Draco: It's only 9:30. Y'all are wimps.
Draco: jk
Gooper Blooper: it's 1:30 PM in Japan
Gooper Blooper: got the whole afternoon ahead of us
Gooper Blooper: I'm gonna go take a Tokyo afternoon nap
Gooper Blooper: nite

---

Gooper Blooper: So here's something Chao might enjoy
Gooper Blooper: Lately I've been playing a Rampage-style game on Switch called "Terror Of Hemasaurus" where you attack cities while playing as a Godzilla knockoff, and early on your kaiju attacks start pretty close to NYC
Gooper Blooper: However, when you get to NYC, you only visit it briefly for a short level in which you target one specific building in Manhattan
Gooper Blooper: The next level has you abruptly change course to go to New Jersey and the tutorial/mission explanation guy says "you can go ahead and wipe this whole place out, no one will miss it"
RubyChao: PFFFFFFFT
RubyChao: ahahahahahaa, i love it
Harpydia: jersey devil cries
Gooper Blooper: Oddly enough despite the Switch having approximately five hundred million games on it, none of them are Rampage, not even the original via that massive "Arcade Archives" port series, so I'm glad this was here to fill the gap
Draco: Brutal.
RubyChao: well harpy
RubyChao: robot hell didn't HAVE to be in new jersey, yet it is
RubyChao: checkmate
Harpydia: jersey devil now promoted to new york devil
Draco: Trapped forever here in robot hell.

GB RP 2024 Character Breakdown

Doing something a little different this year for my post-RP blog - I'm going to go through the enormous cast of characters I brought to the table this year and give my thoughts on their performance this year. Including the plot characters and villains means my events will get discussed along the way, too.

While working on this list, I certainly noticed how many times a character either didn't get used much or only got one or maybe two plots added to their resume. This is what comes of having a cast that's too dang large, and it's increased my resolve to heavily trim down the Ensemble for Season 15 as I try to do more with less instead of dumping every cute girl I see into RP. From the hospital crew to the witches to the solos and duos to the characters that joined up with DALI, it seemed like everyone was fighting for scraps of airtime...

Stella
And then there was Hoshii freakin' Holdings, which is somehow stronger than ever. So strong that Stella gets to be above the jump break. Stella has gone from secondary character, to main character, to the point where she's outright my current flagship, the star of GB RP and probably one of the first characters you think of when you think of my writing. This isn't all just Stella herself, either, but the people who work under her, considering the company features multiple breakout characters who did more than expected this season. Stella herself is certainly a powerhouse at this point, though. More than just someone who attends a bunch of events, she's in the tier of someone like Dia or Dawn in that she actively organizes Kobber forces to align against problems. Also, due to the circumstances of Del's cancelled Tau plot and the point it reached before being cut short, she might have prevented a planetwide assimilation attempt with nothing but a sternly-worded warning, which is a completely insane trophy for her already-stuffed trophy cabinet. We are very lucky the cat boomer is a benevolent soul.

To the surprise of no one, Stella is coming to Argo, and a number of the ideas floating around in my head for some kind of plot or conflict in the next season directly relate to her, mostly in the form of some potential new competition.

Chatzy Madness Volume 421: Totally Zarjaz

Jumpropeman: https://danbooru.donmai.us/posts/2251717
RubyChao: congrats on the girl, ginny
Mobile Draco: Cute :3
Gooper Blooper: Tiny Thief Is Obsessed With Giant Landfill That's Four Times Her Size
Jumpropeman: wish there were more pictures of zadanost
Gooper Blooper: gorgeous
Jumpropeman: time to get jisatsu on the horn
Jumpropeman: im so proud of the little thief that could, brine pushed her to the stars and she just kept trucking to a possible happy life because of it
Gooper Blooper: sometimes RP is just about making a cute girl happy
RubyChao: time for brine to do it AGAIN
Jumpropeman: i was particularly happy that ginny and zada connected on feeling like they were good as they are. I wonder if Zadanost would still be as she is if Ginny didn't tell her it's alright to be a trash heap and in fact, it's amazing
Jumpropeman has a lot of pent up happiness after last night's scene!
Gooper Blooper: I'm reminded of how every so often I'll go back and reread big pairing confirmation moments of my own just to smile at them
Gooper Blooper: Meredith/Rachel is a favorite, big surprise
Jumpropeman: i went back and reread some palette/cube lately
Gooper Blooper: The Cuddle Cube~
RubyChao: i need to do a few more of those to reread, clearly
RubyChao: my most recent one was two years ago!
Jumpropeman: i mean, chao, if you need a lady, i've got hot singles in your area
Jumpropeman: let's see...
Claire: taken. Kogasa: in progress. GBC: taken. Cube: taken. Miyoi: available, but a rare treasure. Yuuma: available. Pete: if that's your thing. Sinful: ... Prosperity: available. Ginny: <3 Vita: in progress ;) PSP: available Fiona: in progress. DALI: all available, so grab Uysnskow QUICK
Fussy Little BunBun: What about Zed
Jumpropeman: nobody's gone for the big guy yet
Gooper Blooper: he'd fall under DALI
Fussy Little BunBun: What about Dr Crygor
Jumpropeman: Crygor x Lady Science is hard canon
Mobile Draco: Miyoi is a forbidden fruit, too sweet to actually possess...
Brine: Very happy with that scene as well. Definitely feels like a culmination of all their sort of stuff... Full stop, Zadanost wouldn't have embraced her full Trash Crystal Elementalness but for Ginny, likely would've gone in the other direction slowly but surely over time. Brine RP is just a drive to make ALL the cute girls happy.

 ---

Jumpropeman: "The robot chef drained her sausage" right in front of everyone?!
Jumpropeman: (sorry)
Gooper Blooper: XD
RubyChao: jrm pls

The Folks On Death Helicopters: "Oh, this is nice. The bacon, especially." I read this as "The bitcoin."
Gooper Blooper: delicious kromer
RubyChao: ?

Chatzy Madness Volume 420: Star Wars Ain't Real

Diadem: don't worry we'll put benedictine cucumberpatch in her place too eventually
Diadem: but she's smart not to get kobberitised this early
Brine: She didn't want anything to do with the Kobbers, they just kept... showing up! Just, sighing and washing her hands of this whole thing. For now. We're gonna get her though!
Diadem: don't send operatives to where kobbers have been recently seen you silly cucumber
Brine: That darn Lee, crawling to safety with them. Absolutely gross. Sending less people to stay under the radar backfired, definitely :V Benedictine back at home like "Well... Fiddlesticks."
MobileCurryy: Damn she owns part of tennessee but can’t say fuck smdh
Brine: Too much class! It'll make it mean that much more when she drops one midKobbering.

---

Jumpropeman: in the same way Randy was likely hired when the ZFPD became more "official", Chiyari probably joined the hospital around the time they became an organization
Jumpropeman: she has a low social battery so even if a Kobber tried to get chummy with her before, she probably just did the bare minimum in the conversation
Jumpropeman: aren't you excited to meet her?!?!
Mobile Draco: Does she like potatoes?
Jumpropeman: i did consider having her have a snack for this scene. so I'll go with... yes

Mbwah Sheep joined the chat
Turalli Traveler tosses a net over Sheep

Turalli Traveler: Stay!
Mbwah Sheep releases his spores in self defense
Mbwah Sheep: Hello
Turalli Traveler: You know spores aren’t going to do much against a net
Mbwah Sheep chews on net
Turalli Traveler: Slightly more effective.
Jumpropeman: hi sheep
Mbwah Sheep: yo
Turalli Traveler: So how is brawl victory tasting
Mbwah Sheep: I'm coping :L
Jumpropeman: just think about how happy it made chao!
RubyChao: it's true
RubyChao: legit how goops felt when harpy finally won
Mbwah Sheep: :I
Mbwah Sheep: this is my smiling face...
Draco: Sheep is smiling? Nature is healing! ;o;
Turalli Traveler: I wanna try and win next year.
RubyChao: good luck!
Draco: I'll vote for you.
Draco: I'm not voting for Sheep anymore though. He's had too much excitement for one year.
Mbwah Sheep: It's true. We had to hire a guy to run on a little wheel where my heart used to be.
Jumpropeman: so that's where spat went
Mbwah Sheep: Listen, he's a busy guy
Turalli Traveler: Sorry CW.
Turalli Traveler: I am not holding back
Turalli Traveler: Next year I will bring in
Turalli Traveler: The cute girls
Draco: Oh no
Draco: Cornwind doesn't have many of those. D:
Jumpropeman: 😱
Jumpropeman: im gonna enter a cute goat, i heard those win
Jumpropeman: wait, I entered yuuma last year
Draco: Not cute enough, apparently.
Draco: Cornwind should enter the god-making villain so she can win and we can make "First time" jokes forever.
Turalli Traveler: He does!
Turalli Traveler: It’s just that his cute girls can and will break a person’s spine over their knee
RubyChao: in fairness, i think a lot of cute girls in rp can
Draco: Mine can't. All my cute girls skipped knee day.
Turalli Traveler: Well mine couldn’t with their knees specifically

Jumpropeman: considering JRM's amoral approach to brawl entry management, if Old Bun Eye had won the brawl, I guess he'd just kinda turn the monster loose afterwards :V Post-Brawl plot: stop the Tyranibble attack on Glasetera
RubyChao: spy did say that he would have cobbled together a plot for us
Draco: Old Bun Eye gets turned into a cute anime girl by Brine too.

Chatzy Madness Volume 419: Big Bar Brawl 14 Edition

Jocular ExplosionFromTheMouth: Sheep what have you done
Marked Sheep: Probably something unspeakable.

---

Mobile Draco: Calling, Sheep. Send help to the Spathi.
Marked Sheep shoots Spathi
Marked Sheep: Gomenasorry

Gooper Blooper: checked a Vermont news website today and got an article that began as follows
Gooper Blooper: "For most of the 30 years Jovana Guarino has lived in South Burlington, she has considered the city a peaceful and enjoyable place to live."
Gooper Blooper: "That is until pickleball arrived."
Diadem: king pickle rickle really fucking conquering vermont

---

Jumpropeman: I feel like I had something to say... *brain sparks*
Mobile Pitohui: I keep having that experience lately.
Mobile Pitohui: I blame the heat making for restless nights.
Jumpropeman mind is just a miasma of brawl spoilers
Gooper Blooper: On that note
Gooper Blooper: Bravo to JRM for never once accidentally letting slip any Brawl spoilers in regular conversation during the Brawl Cave period
Draco: It's why he usually avoids us: because he's so HYPE.
Jumpropeman: its one reason I don't like, share links of danbooru or much during brawl too, don't want you think I'm thinking about a character too much :V
Draco: Is that why you shared a hundred Sucy pictures? ;p
Gooper Blooper: JRM's Pinterest is currently filled with pictures of Pukey
Jumpropeman: link
Draco: AH HA! Lil Cirno's winning the Brawl this year! >:D
Jumpropeman: D: I thought I threw you off the scent...

---

Jumpropeman: Draco, DALI would support the robot rights thing in some capacity so you can say they're there somehow
Jumpropeman: I don't want you to feel obligated to have like, Zed or Ember who could be very strong, but you can have like, Jawbreaker and Phanty or something
Jumpropeman: Kogasa can be there and tell them they can't participate since their user isn't around
Gooper Blooper: I can see Kogasa attending and then eliminating herself from the fight that way
Gooper Blooper: "Oh, I should be in the Brawl Cave!"
Jumpropeman: pictured: kogasa exiting plot
Draco: Alright. I'll say Kogasa is there trying to become a robot. ;V

RubyChao: man i think the brawl wait really is where you feel how long two weeks is
Jumpropeman: what do you mean, two weeks feels so short to me-
Gooper Blooper: It's like waiting for Christmas
Gooper Blooper: You wait and wait and wait, and then IT'S HERE... and then it's gone and you gotta wait another year
Draco: I have a video game to keep me busy for two weeks. There's no plot on Saturday after all. ;p
Turalli Traveler: Well you also get the behind the fites
Turalli Traveler: I always like that
Gooper Blooper: That's always an enjoyable chaser, yes
